DRBA presents “The Current” on Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 PM at the Dolores Public Library. Filmmakers Stephen Witherspoon and Greg Cairns traveled the length of the Animas River by ski, foot, kayak and raft from the headwaters to the San Juan confluence and across Lake Powell. The film tells the story of their adventure and illuminates the issues facing the Animas and many other southwestern rivers like the Dolores.
Their film premiered to sold-out crowds in Durango in April, and now DRBA is excited to host the first local screening! Watch the trailer here. We will be joined by the filmmakers to answer questions and talk more about their quest to really understand the Animas River. Admission is free, but a $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door to cover their travel expenses. Join us!
