The BOCC Nov. 12 public hearing regarding Land Use Code and the Dolores River Valley has been postponed until early 2014. Please stay tuned for more details as they arise.
Transfer of Development Rights (TDRs) in the Dolores River Valley will also be discussed at the next hearing. Transfer of Development Rights is a process that compensates landowners who wish to sell rights to those who want to increase density on their property. Current regulations allow 1 dwelling per 10 acres —-1TDR=10ac. TDRs are a way to move development to an area that is more suitable for development, while helping to conserve ecological, agricultural, and heritage values of a property.
